Holds a Ph.D. in Petroleum Science and Engineering from UNICAMP (2013), a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from UNICAMP (2007), and a Bachelor’s in Physics also from UNICAMP (2005). Currently, he is a tenured professor at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (EPUSP) in the Department of Mining and Petroleum Engineering. He is the creator and current coordinator of the Laboratory of Reservoir Simulation and Management (LASG) at EPUSP. He leads the ‘LASG – Reservoir Simulation and Management’ Research Group funded by CNPq and is also a researcher at the Energy Production Innovation Center (EPIC) financed by FAPESP-Equinor. He is a full advisor accredited in the Postgraduate Program in Mineral Engineering (PPGEMin) with a focus on Petroleum Engineering and has specific accreditation in the Naval and Ocean Engineering program (PPGEN) at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo. His research and development projects are sponsored by FAPESP, Petrobras, and Equinor. He is also a reviewer for major journals in the field, such as the Journal of Petroleum Science & Engineering (JPSE) by Elsevier B.V., Computational Geosciences by Springer, and the SPE Journal (Society of Petroleum Engineers). His research primarily focuses on Reservoir Engineering, Numerical Reservoir Simulation, Data Science Applied to Petroleum Exploration, Optimization Methods, History Matching, Decision Analysis, and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) methods.
